Eden, NC Carlene Coleman Robbins Smith, age 81, of Eden went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 15, 2007 at her home. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late Carl Henry Robbins, Sr. and the late Marvin W. Smith. Carlene was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, and cooking for her family and friends. Carlene was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn Coker and her husband, Jerry of Elon, Sandra Tusing and her husband, William of Martinsville, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence Robbins and his wife, Carolyn of Burlington, Carl H. Robbins, Jr. of Liberty, Charles C. Robbins of Burlington and Larry E. Robbins and his wife, Barbara of Swepsonville; thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Elsie Mitchell of Reidsville and Betty Gann of Burlington; brothers, Hayward Coleman of Reidsville and Melvin Coleman of Chesapeake Beach, Virginia She was preceded in death by her late husbands, parents, Eddie R. and Flossie Pickrell Coleman; sister, Mildred Robbins McCann; grandchildren, Velvet and Brian Robbins. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bland Leebrick and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
