Debbie Gaines

Deborah "Debbie" Long Gaines, 54, of 911 Graham St. went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the Hospice. Debbie fought her battle with cancer since 1990. Mrs. Gaines was born October 28, 1953 in Huntington Long Island, New York to Mr. Loftin Long Sr. and Dolores Lewis Long. Debbie was my best friend, lover, and dear wife for 31 years to Edgar "Dall" Gaines. She retired from Annedeen Hosiery after 20 years of service. Debbie had a great love for people and loved angels. Survivors include her parents; husband, Dall Gaines of the home; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and George Rut of Long Island, NY, Dawn and Dominic Miranda of Burlingon, Diana Long of Graham, Jack Long of Burlington, and Louise and Lee Moize of Mebane; Brother-in-law, Jimmy Dimitrakakis of Long Island, NY; Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law, Kaye and Bill Griffin of Graham, Tom and Pam Gaines Gibsonville, and Janet and W. R. Griffin of Gibsonville; nieces and nephews, Christopher Gaines, Sara Long, Abby Long, Danny Rodriquez, Dolores Miranda, Emily Moize, Angelo Dimitrakakis, Alex Dimitrakakis, George Rut and wife Joann and Zachary Wilson. She was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Dimitrakakis. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bill Gindlesperger. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times the family will be at the home. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Choski, Dr. Chrystal, and all the nurses and doctors at the Alamance Regional Medical Center Cancer Center; A special thanks to the nurses and staff at Hospice Home and to all her friends and family that cared for Debbie during her illness.
