Burlington, NC Everett O. "Red" Fisher, age 85, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 11, 1927 to John and Pearl Mundy Fisher both deceased. He was the husband of 55 years to Erma Loy Fisher who survives. Red is survived by his wife, Erma Loy Fisher of the home; daughter, Torie Benson also of the home; son, Kevin Fisher, Sr. of Butner, NC.; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and "Simba" the cat. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Billy Lee Fisher and John Allen Fisher. Red. Retired from Western Electric and A.T. & T. at the Guilford center. He was an avid Duke fan and loved to hunt and fish. He especially enjoyed attending his Naval Reunions with his ship mates. Red served in the Navy on the destroyer U.S.S. Hank during WWII and also service during the Korean War. The Fisher family would like to thank Janet, Kim and Tina of Hospice for their dedicated care of Red . A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. US Naval honors will provided by the US Navy. The family will receive friends from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at his home.
