Ferry Apple

Gibsonville Ferry Lee Apple, 95, of 5530 NC 61 North died on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at his home. He was born in Guilford County, son of the late George Riley Washington and Lydia Eugenia Lowe Apple, and was married to the late Lucinda Roberts Apple. He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, the Gibsonville Lions Club and served as traffic officer for several years at Fire Station No. 28 in the Friedens Community. Mr. Apple retired from Western Electric and was a member of the retirees Young At Heart Club. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Jim Greeson of Julian; grandchildren, Jim Greeson, Jr., Sara Greeson, Raleigh Apple, Jason Apple and Michael Apple; 4 great grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a son, Warren D. Apple. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Friedens Lutheran Church with Rev. Delmer Chilton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery and the family will receive friends at the Friedens Community House immediately following the graveside service. Mr. Apple will be available for viewing at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory from Friday morning until being taken to the church for the service on Saturday.
