Frank Mankel

Mr. Francis "Frank" Mankel, 57, of 676 Huntingdon, St. passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the Hospice Home. Mr. Mankel was born May 4, 1950 in Carteret, New Jersey to the late Rutledge and Doris Hegeman. He was a supervisor for Gold Toe Mortez of Burlington where he worked for 8 years. Before coming to Burlington he worked for Howard Indus. in Stowe, Pa. until 2000. Frank was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife Cheryl Behm Mankel of the home; a son, Matthew Mankel of York, Pa; a daughter, Rebecca Gueorguiev and her husband Daniel of Staten Island, N.Y; two brothers, Robert Hegeman of Vermont and Timothy Hegeman of Stevens, Pa; and two sisters, Patricia Brizek and Christine Hegeman both of Reading, Pa. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2008 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. A visitation will follow after the service at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
