Jack Burrell

Jack Burrell, age 77, of South Gurney St. passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Hospice Home. A native of West Virginia, he was the son of the late George Gibson and Mary Wilson Burrell and was the husband of Dolly Livengood Honeycutt who survives. He was a member of Holly Hill Baptist Church, was a US Army Veteran and a self employed carpenter. Survivors include his wife "Dolly" Livengood Honeycutt of the home; daughters, Betty B. Davis and husband Art of Roanoke, VA and June B. Hunt and husband Jerry of Mebane; sons, Charles Edward Burrell and wife Jennifer and George Daniel Burrell and wife Andrea all of Rocky Mount, VA; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brother, Claude Allen Burrell and wife Gloria of Johnson City, TN and sister, Gladys Dillard of Bluff City, TN; step children, James Honeycutt and wife Bonnie, Tammie Levron and husband Darrin and Janice Sharpe; 7 step grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pansy Hughes Burrell, parents; and son, Jack Robert Burrell. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday in the Holly Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Kenny Black, pastor. Interment will follow in Hawfields Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Mr. Burrell will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to Holly Hill Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45am Thursday, prior to the funeral service.
