Burlington JAY ENGLISH photo Alfred James "Jay" English, age 49, of 953 Greenwood Dr., passed away Tuesday July 15, 2008 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Johnston County, he was the son of the late Charles Sperth and Lucille Morgan English and husband of Sherrie Campbell English who survives. He was an employee of Chandler Concrete, an avid musician and a father who was very devoted to his family. Survivors include his wife, Sherrie Campbell English; son, Jayson Charles English; daughers Morgan Lee English and Shelby Elizabeth English all of the home; his biological mother, Mary Baines Hale of Rocky Mount; brother, William Ronald Taylor of Elm City; sisters, Cynthia Ann Pierce Bryant of Rocky Mount, Janice Lynette Ruth Pierce Harris of Tarboro and Wandia Pierce Taylor of Rocky Mount. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Danny Charles English. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday July 18, 2008 at the Oakview Presbyterian Church in Caswell County by Pastor Robert Hillman. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. English will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8 PM Thursday and at other times, the home of Shelby Campbell; 317 Quintas Ave. Burlington.
