Jean Anthony

Mary Lou "Jean" Anthony, 72, passed away Friday, July 19, 2008 at Carolina Commons. Ms. Anthony was born February 10, 1936 in Alamance County to the late Milton and Clara S. Boone May. Jean worked and retired as a waitress from West Market St. Baptist Church after many years of service; was a member of Gibsonville Christian Church were she was involved with the Ladies Circle. Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Allen of Burlington; a son, Charles Boone of Burlington; three grandchildren, Tina Walker of Burlington, Danny Allen of Lake Elsinore, Ca., and Trayson Johnson of Burlington; seven great grandchildren, Tyler Eanes, Haley Walker, Jordan Allen, Taylor Walker, Devan Allen, Mary Walker, and Emrick Allen; and a brother, Jerry King of Burlington. Ms. Anthony was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Purgerson; a granddaughter-in-law, Chawna Allen; and a brother, Willard King. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Brian Ayers. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery in McLeansville. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times the family will be at 721 Fix St. in Burlington.
