GIBSONVILLE- Paul William Lewis, 69, of 7108 Claren Oaks Ct., went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at his home after several months of failing health. A native of Guilford County, he was the son of the late David Anderson Lewis and the late Mae Wadford Lewis and was married for over 49 years to Millie McBride Lewis, who survives. Mr. Lewis retired from Johnson Motor Company after 35 years service. He was a member of Peoples Memorial Christian Church, where he served as a deacon, usher, choir member, and was the chief cook for the Mens Prayer Breakfast. He enjoyed horses and exchanged his love for racing for a passionate love for the Lord. Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Terri Lewis Payne and her husband, David, of Gibsonville and Tami Lewis Greene and her husband, Terry, of Greer, SC; five grandchildren, Caleb, Micah and Nathan Greene and Drew and Kristin Payne; a sister, Frances Lewis Ross of Greensboro; and two brothers, David Lewis of Browns Summit and John Wesley Lewis of Greensboro. The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Peoples Memorial Christian Church by the Rev. John Shields and Rev. Jon Davidson. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home. There will be a graveside service the following morning at 11:00 AM Friday, August 3, at Lakeview Memorial Park.
