Rosemary Hooks

Ms. Rosemary Hooks, age 70, of Burlington, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Liberty Commons after several months of failing health. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late James Robert Hooks and the late Rowena Newell Hooks. Rosemary graduated with a bachelor's degree from East Carolina University and retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation after 30 years of service and was of the Methodist faith. "Roses", as she was called by her niece and nephew, enjoyed her retirement years living at the coast, playing bridge with her good friends and collecting antiques and pottery. Ms. Hooks is survived by her sister, Suella C. Klug; a niece, Sandra A. Klug; a nephew, Darrell T. Klug and his wife, Amy; and three great nephews, Dietrich, Alexander and Marshall, all of Burlington. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Riverview Park in Swansboro, NC.
