Salvatore Mazzurco

Salvatore Mazzurco, 97, of 3158 Brycewood Place, Burlington, passed away on Monday February 2, 2009. A native of Sicily, Italy, he was born to the late Giuseppe and Brigida Mazzurco, and was the husband of the late Maria Castronovo. Survivors include four sons: Joseph Mazzurco and wife Frances of New York, Jerry Mazzurco and wife Margaret of Burlington, Vinny Mazzurco and wife Olga of Long Island, NY, Antonio Mazzurco and wife Janet of Greensboro; and 9 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Rev. Paul Gabriel, OFM Conv. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. A Vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and at other times at the home.
