Sidney Norris

Gibsonville, NC Sidney Norris, age 71, of 6501 Friedens Church Road went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Moses Cone Hospital. He was the husband for over 48 years to Ethel Walling Norris who survives. Sidney was retired as the owner and operator of the Sedalia Texaco. He was a member of Twin Oaks Church and was a veteran of the Army National Guard. Sidney loved spending time with his family and was an avid fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Walling Norris of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Jean Aldridge of the home, Melinda Lynn and Brent Owen of Trafalgar, Indiana; grandchildren, Dennis Aldridge, William and Danny Owen; sisters and brothers-in-law, Christine and George Pennini of Dallas, Texas, Margarette Saxton of Ft. Deposit, Alabama, Inez and Ray Martinez of Greenville, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Virginia Norris of Troy, Alabama, William and Joan Norris and Herbert and Betty Norris both of Montomery, Alabama, Robert Norris of Dothan, Alabama, Leon Norris of Athens, Tennessee, George and Gwynn Norris of Selma, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Susie Marvin Norris; daughter, Aretta Marie Norris and a sister, Jeanette Simpler. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tommy Scronce and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
