Steven Kovach

McLeansville, NC Steven Kovach, 88, spent his final days at home peacefully before going to be with our Lord on Monday, February 27, 2012. Formerly of Woodbridge, NJ, he served our country in WWII from 1943-1945 as a paratrooper with the 82nd airborne. He retired from Woodbridge Township school system in 1983. He and wife Margaret moved to Mcleansville, NC in 2001. They attend Mount Hope United Church of Christ. Son of Andrew and Julia Kovach, he is preceeded in death by both his parents, brothers Andrew, Paul and Joseph and sisters Marian and Margaret. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Margaret; sons, Bert and wife Jean of Julian, NC, Steven and wife Karen, of Woodbridge, NJ and David, also of Woodbridge, NJ; five grandchildren, Bert Jr., Diana, Danny, Gina and Steven. Also sisters Julia Buickerood of Scottland, PA, and Madlyn Munn and husband Howard of Woodbridge, NJ, and brother-in-law Zoltan Varga of Julian, NC. Funeral services and interment will be held in Woodbridge, NJ. A memorial service will be held at Mount Hope United Church of Christ at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell who compassionately cared for both Steven and his family.
