Elon - Wade Hensley, 86, of 1408 Elon Ossipee Rd. died on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at his residence after several years of failing health. He was born in Alamance County son of the late Lew Clifton "L. C." and Mattie Viola Ingle Hensley and was married for 66 years to Mary Lou Gerringer Hensley who survives. He was co-owner of Hensley Hosiery Mill and later became the sole owner and operator of Wade's Hosiery Mill. Mr. Hensley was a member of Shallow Ford Christian Church. He is survived by his wife of the home, daughters, Janice Hensley Kornegay and her husband Randall of Burlington and Bonnie Hensley Page of Elon; grandchildren, Wendy Newsome, Shannon Page Harvey and Christina Marie Newsome; great grandchildren, Lucas Wade Newsome and Madison Page Harvey; sisters, Irene Hensley Hall and her husband James of Elon and Irma Hensley Foust of Gibsonville and a brother, Russell C. Hensley and his wife Betty Mae of Elon. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Vernon, Clyde, J. V. and L. A. Hensley. The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Shallow Ford Christian Church by Dr. S. Perry and Pastor Howard Thompson with interment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shallow Ford Christian Church, 1263 Shallowford Church Rd., Elon, NC 27244 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
