William Troxler

Elon, NC William "Bill" Carroll Troxler, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of 58 years to Dolly Wilburn Troxler who survives. Bill was employed for 20 years with Melville Diary and for several years with Flowers Bakery, later he retired from GE in Mebane. Bill was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Elon and a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Bill enjoyed refinishing furniture in his spare time. Survivors include his wife, Dolly Wilburn Troxler of the home; sons, Steve Troxler of Elon and Gary Troxler and his wife, Sheri of Elon; grandchildren, Wesley Troxler of Elon, Kelly Mathews and her husband, Scott of Little River, S.C., Sarah Troxler and Jenny Troxler both of Elon; brother, Earl Troxler and his wife, Janet of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy Carroll Troxler and Alvia Smith Troxler; sister, Opal Isley and a brother, Pete Willard Troxler. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Elon by Rev. Mark Mofield and assisted by Rev. Mike Mitchner. The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park with military honors provided by the US Army 82nd Airborne Division. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
