William Thompson

Burlington, NC William "Bill" Harrison Thompson, age 72, of Hillford Drive went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Barbara Ann Johnson Thomp son who survives. Bill retired from South Atlantic Galvanizing and was an amateur pilot. He was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church and a member of the Harper Burke Sunday School Class. Bill loved the Lord and he lived out his faith in every area of his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his wife of the home; daughters, Lynne Payton and her husband of Chalfont, PA, Tammy Marie Gerow of Painted Post, NY, Karen Ann Evans of Mebane; sons, William Thompson and his wife, Linda of Haddon Heights, NJ, Scott Thompson of Tuscon, AZ and Robert James Pope of San Diego, CA; numerous grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters, Lee Thompson of Gilbertsville, PA and Judi Minio and her huband, Anthony of Nokamis, FL. He was preceded in death in by his parents, Jasper Lee and Mary Elizabeth Harrison Thompson. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Larry Redding. The family will be at the residence at other times.
