Burlington – Christopher “C.J.” Jerimiah McGuire, 20, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019 at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Orange County on August 6, 1999 to Kimberly Dawn Williams and Christopher William McGuire.
C.J. worked for New World Van Lines and was a volunteer fireman for the EM Holt Fire Department. He attended Low’s Lutheran Church and was a graduate of the Junior Police Academy in 2013 and the Fire Academy. In 2018 he graduated from Southern Alamance High School.
Survivors include his mother, Kimberly Williams; brother, Jacob Williams; sister, Zoie Ashby; fiancé, Kayla Edwards; maternal grandparents, Rick and Linda Williams; paternal grandfathers, Bobby McGuire and Lloyd May; great grandparents, Spencer and Charlotte Williams and Betty Baker; uncle Ricky Williams, Jr.; aunt, Elizabeth Williams; special friend, “CPAL”, Fahad Shah; special step family, Brad Cross and Paige Cross and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Linda May and maternal great grandmother, Barbara McLendon.
The family will receive friends from 2-4pm on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at his grandparent’s home. A private burial will be held on Wednesday.
A special “thank you!” to Dr. Ian Davis, Diana Gordon NP and all the staff at UNC Children’s Hospital for their loving care during CJ’s illness #5C.
