George Harrison

Burlington, NC George Washington Harrison, age 88, of Twin Lakes passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born October 22, 1924 to the late Henry C. and Mamie Marshall Harrison. He was the husband of the late Pauline Somers Harrison. George retired after 30 years with Western Electric and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He served in the US Army during WW II and he loved to dance and enjoyed a good laugh. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his son, Douglas S. Harrison of Elon; grandchildren, Doug Harrison of Elon, Heather Campbell of Texas and Rusty Harrison of Tennessee; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death his wife, a son, Ferril Harrison; his parents; three brothers and two sisters. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 28th at 3:00 pm at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:45 pm on Friday prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
