Liberty Albert R. Johnson Mr. Albert Ramair Johnson, age 91, of 6155 Kimesville Road, Liberty died Monday November 27, 2006 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a short stay at Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Alamance of Graham. He was the husband of Mrs. Barbara Mae Euliss Johnson since June 21, 1935. He was the son of the late Walter Lee Johnson, Sr. and Laura Neta Terrell Johnson. He was born in Hillsborough on December 5, 1914. He moved to Burlington in 1931. He was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Kimesville, where he formerly served as Sunday School teacher, secretary and treasurer of the Sunday School, trustee, chairman of the finance committee, secretary of the Administrative Board, member of the Methodist Men, Boy Scout master, and Explorer advisor. He worked at Pet Dairy, Standard Hosiery Mill, was an insurance agent with Southland Life Insurance, and as plant manager at Yarntex. He also served as president of the Burlington Life Underwriters Association. After 7 years of work, he retired from Roche Biomedical Laboratories. He served as senior in-house representative of the professional service department. He served as treasurer and president of the E.M. Holt School PTA. He served on the executive athletic committee as secretary. He was a former member of the Alamance Civitan Club, where he had 20 years of perfect attendance. As a Civitan, he served as secretary, treasurer, president, and chaplain. He was also named Man of the Year. He was a member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge 714 AF & AM for over 30 years. He volunteered at Alamance Memorial Hospital and later Alamance Regional Medical Center for over 18 years. His survivors include his wife, Barbara Mae Euliss Johnson of the home; one son, Albert Boyce Johnson and his wife Nancy of Gibsonville; two granddaughters, Miss Anita Leigh Johnson of Stoney Creek and Miss Amanda Jane Johnson of Gibsonville; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Britt and Mrs. Barbara Flack both of Burlington, and Mrs. Arlene Quakenbush of Lexington, South Carolina; three brothers, Richard and Ronald Johnson both of Burlington, and Paul Johnson of Arapahoe, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Walter Johnson, Jr. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church by Rev. Steve Joyce. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Mt.
