Gibsonville, NC Aleen Heilig Manring, age 84, of Brightwood Church Road went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 2, 2008. She was a native of Randolph county and the wife of the late Roubert "R.J." Johnson Manring. Aleen retired from Carolina Hosiery. She was a member of Brightwood Christian Church and the Berean Sunday School Class. She was very active in her church singing in the Brightwood Trio for many years and was a member of the church choir. Aleen enjoyed taking trips with the senior citizens group at the church and gardening. She was a loving and devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Nancy Huffman and her husband, Donald of Gibsonville, Ellen Carroll of Burlington, Cindy Manring of Winston-Salem and Donna Manring of Gibsonville; son and daughter-in-law, Rod Manring and his wife, Alvalena; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren; sister, Josephine Kendrick of Jamestown. She was preceded in death by her husband, sons, Dean and Johnny Manring, parents, John Carl and Lizzie Ellen Lamar Heilig; sister, Lucille Jones and brothers, Ernest, Lewis and Guy Heilig. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Brightwood Christian Church by Rev. Bruce Church and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
