Allen Duwayne Leigh, 66, passed away unexpectedly on February 4, 2026, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Born in Alamance County, Allen was the son of William Leigh and Lucy Doswell Leigh and was married for over 38 years to Barbara Hewitt Leigh.

Throughout his career, Allen found fulfillment as a fixer at McMichael Mills until his retirement in March 2024, after many years of dedicated service.

Beyond his professional life, Allen was known for his heartwarming kindness. He dedicated himself to helping neighbors, often lending a hand whenever anyone was in need. Allen cherished his role as his dad William Ernest Leigh's right-hand man, exemplifying the values of family and togetherness instilled in him by his loving parents. He would later carry these values into his own family, taking immense joy in raising his granddaughters and nurturing the bonds of love that connected him to the next generation.

Allen was a man of simple pleasures who found happiness in the outdoors. He loved fishing and relished the tranquility it brought him. In addition, his passion for planting flowers showcased his appreciation for beauty and life, filling the world around him with vibrant colors and fragrant blooms.

Allen is survived by his wife; Barbara Hewitt Leigh, his children David Allen Leigh, Bryan William Leigh and his wife Alayna Page, and Fallon Nicole Leigh, special daughter; Kristin Myers, grandchildren; Morgan Leigh, Josiah Leigh, Jackson Justice, Aayden Leigh, Stephen Myers, Layla Ricardez, Taylor Leigh, Lilly Smith, Chloe Smith, and Chase Leigh, as well as his great granddaughter, Avianna Leigh. Allen is also survived by his brother Johnny Leigh, sister Sherry Smith, and aunt Shirley Smith. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Lucy Clyde Dowsell Leigh, and brother Michael Leigh, who welcomed him with open arms in the absence of this earthly realm.

A service to celebrate Allen’s life will be held at a later date.
