Allene Reavis Jones

Allene Reavis Jones, age 90, went to be with God on March 7,2023 at Richland Place in Greensboro, North Carolina. She died of complications of dementia.  She was born July 5, 1932, in Alamance County, N.C. to the late Robert J. Reavis and Grace Forsyth Reavis. She worked as a secretary for Western Electric for several years after graduating from Burlington Business College.

     While working at Western Electric she met a young man whom she married in 1954. She and Daniel Robert Jones, Jr ”Dan” were married for over 40 years before he passed away in 1999. They had 3 children and a menagerie of animals over the years.

       In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by her brother, Robert J. Reavis, Jr. “Bob”.

        Her greatest joy came from raising and looking after her family. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply. She adored getting to know her first great- grandchild. She taught her family to care about others and to help in church and in the community when possible.

       She is survived by her brother Jack Reavis(Hazel) and nieces Paige Howard(Greg) and Leigh Kent(Tom). She is also survived by her children, Debbie Smith(Tommy), Kevin Jones(Paula), Marci Bailes(Bill) and her grandchildren Daniel Jones, Patrick Jones, Gracie Finch(Preston), Owen Bailes, and Brian Bailes. She also has one great-grandchild, Lincoln Finch.

       Per Allene’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. She loved her church and asked that any donations be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church 2306 Lacy St., Burlington, NC. 27215
