Alton Dale Rogers

January 13, 1945 — December 29, 2025

Winston-Salem

Kernersville- Alton Dale Rogers, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Summer Stone Rehab in Kernersville. He was born on January 13, 1945, in Person County, NC, to the late Zebulon Vance Rogers and Alma Sue Allen Rogers. He worked on the family farm alongside his parents, sisters, and brother.

Alton was a retired general contractor and home inspector who loved building and creating immaculate homes. He was quite the perfectionist.

Alton enjoyed antiquing and flea market finds and was highly knowledgeable about antiques and collectibles. He loved discussing history and a multitude of other topics.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis Haley Rogers, sister Linda Rogers Ollis (Macon), Edna Rogers Barringer (Delton), many nieces and nephews, and cousins.

As we remember Alton, let us celebrate his life—a life that was at times difficult, yet happy; troubled, yet content; sorrowful, yet cheerful; sad, yet filled with humor. All of these experiences represent his life’s journey!

Now at the end, let’s remember his unique sense of humor, curiosities, commitment to his craftsmanship, and mostly that he gave all that he was capable of giving to each of us. He will live on through us and have our love until our journey comes to an end.

We have hope from Revelations 21: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. And the one seated on the throne said, “Look! I am making all things new”. Also he says, “Write for these words are faithful and true”.
