Andrew "A.B." Chrismon

   Andrew Barnell “A.B.” Chrismon, Sr., 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.  He was born in Guilford County on July 30, 1925 to the late Lester Chrismon and Pearl Apple Chrismon, and was married over 61 years to the late Kiwainia Flynn “Dink” Chrismon who died in 2012.  

   A.B. retired after 43 years with Southern Railway.  He was a US Navy veteran of WWII, a member of Peoples Church; he was a former deacon and Sunday school teacher and held various offices in churches that he had attended through the course of his life. A.B. was an avid golfer, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, planting vegetables, but most of all growing his tomatoes.  

   He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Jean Eborn and husband Jerry, and Julie Ann Chrismon; a son, Andrew “Andy” B. Chrismon, Jr. and wife Tracy; grandchildren, Jessica Roberts and husband Gary, Janlyn Butler and husband Matthew, Ashley Chrismon, Drew Chrismon III and wife Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Addie Chrismon, Adam Chrismon, Owen Chrismon, Dean Roberts, Kinley Jean Butler and Blayden Butler; a brother, Douglas Chrismon; several nieces and nephews.  

   A.B. was preceded in death by his wife, parents and siblings, Ruby Lowe, Dorothy Haney, Jessie Lewis, Lee Boyd Chrismon and Wilford Chrismon.  

   The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday February 26, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ken Simpson with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park with military honors.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45pm Saturday prior to the service and other times at the granddaughter, Ashley’s residence.
