Ann Touchstone Patterson

Ann Touchstone Patterson, 86, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born in Orange County on January 18, 1937. Ann moved from Hillsborough to Burlington during high school where she met the love of her life, John Knox Patterson. They were married for 57 years when John died in 2015.

Ann was a homemaker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend. Ann was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, and she attended Wharf Hill United Methodist Church when she was living in Virginia. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, working in her yard with her flowers, decorating and entertaining family and friends. But most of all she loved her family.

She is survived by her children, John Hobart Patterson and wife Jane, Mark Steven Patterson, and Nan Patterson Cooper and husband David; grandchildren, John Harrison Cooper, James William Cooper and Katherine Nan Patterson; a sister-in-law, Jean Mann; her feline companion Mr. Kitty, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, John Patterson and a son, Ronald Lee Patterson.

A celebration service of Ann’s life will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. John Roe.  The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the daughter’s home in Elon.
