Ansel Weathers

Lakeland, Florida Ansel Ross Weathers, age 80, died on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Florida. He was a native of Greenville County, South Carolina and the husband of Jean Garrison Weathers who survives. Ansel retired from the Frito Lay Corporation after 17 years and he later retired from Peoples Bank after 10 years. He was currently employed with Lakeland/Tampa Bay Auto Auctions. Ansel was a US Marine Corp Veteran and he attended Medulla Baptist Church in Lakeland. Survivors include his wife. Jean Garrison Weathers of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Robin Richie and her husband, Scott of Deerfield Beach, Florida and Vicki Hand and her husband, Steve of Conroe, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, Kerry Rudd and his wife, Pam of Marshall, Michigan and Mike Rudd and his wife, Martha of Weatherford, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; sisters, Sybil Godwin and Carrie Lou Stephens both of Greenville, South Carolina, Nira Griffin of Carrollton, Georgia and Barbara Shelton of Laurens, South Carolina; brother, Henry Weathers of Fountain Inn, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Layfatte and Mary Emmie Woods Weathers. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Renee Burnette and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park with military honors provided by the US Marine Corp. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
