Mrs. Arlene Apple Hedrick, age 86, of Osceola-Ossipee Rd. passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health. A native of Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Fred Loftin Apple and the late Mary Zimmerman Apple and was married to the late Roy Fletcher Hedrick, who died in 2001. Arlene previously worked for Altamahaw Hosiery Mill but was a career homemaker and seamstress. She was a longtime member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church and was involved with the Senior Citizens of Gibsonville. Mrs. Hedrick was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a friend to everyone she met. Mrs. Hedrick is survived by her two daughters, Mary Lowe and her husband, Freddie, of McLeansville and Susan Martin and her husband, Dan, of Orlando, FL; her son, Dr. James Hedrick and his wife, Phyllis Jean, of Burlington; six grandchildren, Duane Christy Lowe, Nicole Josh Weaver, Holly Brady Johnson, Heidi Kevin Koski, Joan Olivia Hedrick and Joshua Fletcher Hedrick; two step grandchildren, Vanessa Blackmore and Erika Gonzalez; eight great grandchildren, Samantha Lowe, Devyn Lowe, Ethan Lowe, Reagan Weaver, Garrett Weaver, Alex Johnson, Clay Johnson, and Kennedy Koski; two step great grandchildren, Ryley Blackmore and McKenna Gonzalez; three brothers, Curtis Brenda Apple of Gibsonville, Allen Julia Apple of High Point and Billy Reid Griselda Apple of Milwaukee, WI; and special friends, Ruth Rudd, Dee and Irene Murray and Joe and Carolyn Myers. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother, F.L. Apple, Jr. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Apple's Chapel Christian Church by Rev. C. Allen Myers III. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the church and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Apple's Chapel Christian Church Cemetery Fund, 7345 NC Hwy 61 N., Gibsonville, NC 27249. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Hedrick family.
