Arnold Ward

Arnold Pat Ward, 82 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Woodrow Wilbert and Mildred Catherine Lucas Ward. He was the husband of 38 years to Joyce Langley Ward who survives.

Arnold was a graduate of the class of 1958 at A-O High School. He retired from Dixie Bell in Gibsonville after 25 years. Arnold was a lifetime member of Glen Raven Baptist Church. He was voted in as treasure in 1964 and served in that capacity for 55 years under the leadership of Rev. Earl Harrelson, Rev. Glen Hancock and Rev. Bobby Fann. Arnold also served as Sunday School Superintendent, Choir Director, Children’s Church Director, Rest Home Ministry and on the Senior Citizen Committee.  He enjoyed baking pies and cakes and looking after his yard which he push mowed for years. He recently lost his canine companion “Bandit” of sixteen years. Arnold lived out his faith in every area of his life and had a deep love for people. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and brother.

Arnold is survived by his wife, Joyce Langley Ward of the home; daughter, Rhonda Jordan and husband, Todd of Yadkinville; sister, Sandy Williams of Burlington and several special  nieces and nephews whom he loved . He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1st wife, Beth Ward; brother, Donald Ward and infant brother, Ronald Wayne Ward; sister, Hilda Holbrook and his brother-in-law, Ray Williams.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Glen Raven Baptist Church by Rev. Bobby Fann, Mr. Ken Nall and Mr. Eric Rudd. The burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45pm prior to the service at the church and the family will be at the home at other times.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurse of Authoracare Hospice for their care of Arnold over the past several weeks.
