Aubrey Jones

Aubrey Neal Jones, 76, of 1304 Ridgecrest Ave., died Sunday, October 15, 2006, at the Hospice Home after several years of failing health. A native of Orange County, he was the son of the late Leonard Jones and the late Emma Lee Perry Jones and was married to Mrs. Helga Wolf Jones, who survives. Mr. Jones was in the U.S. Army for 22 years, serving in Korea and Vietnam, until his retirement in 1968. He then was employed at Newlin Hardware until he retired in 2004. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Rosemarie Farrell of Atlanta, GA; a grandson, Trey Foster of the home; and a brother, Robert Jones of Elizabethtown, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sylvia Jones Vickers; two sisters, Vera Jones and Ruth Jones; and three brothers, Henry Jones, Jasper Jones, and Aumon Jones. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Alamance Memorial Park by the Rev. Shelby L. Stephens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
