Audrey Marie Zannoth Stimpert

August 7, 1919 — March 1, 2023

Audrey Marie Zannoth Stimpert, 103, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Homeplace of Burlington. She was born in Detroit, MI on August 7, 1919 to the late Benjamin Hugo and Lillian Bresser Zannoth and was the wife of 20 years to the late Dr. Fred Dewey Stimpert.

Audrey was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, FL and attended First Baptist Church Burlington. She grew up in Detroit, MI and went to Bob Jones College for a secretarial degree. When she returned to Detroit, she became the secretary to her future husband who was head of the polio research, development and production at Parke-Davis.   Audrey was active in civic duties and sporting events. They included President of the YWCA, member of community chorus in Pontiac, member of local church, golfer, swimmer, sailor, ice skater and biker, where she toured Europe and rode 300 miles in 10 days. Her true passion though was tennis and playing the trumpet in various bands/orchestras. She played tennis until the age of 98 and the trumpet until age 99. But most of all, she was the loving matriarch of our family.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Stimpert, granddaughters, Jescena Marie Coffee Sink (Bo) and Zannoth Muzette Coffee Prescott (Matt); great grandchildren, Lillian Marie Sink, Allison Lee Sink, Grayson Matthew Prescott and Bryce Benjamin Prescott and son-in-law, Johnny Coffee. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, Timothy Fred Stimpert; brother, Benjamin Donald Zannoth and sister-in-law, Phyllis Elizabeth Zannoth.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Burlington by Rev. Chase Robinson with a gathering to follow. Audrey will be available for viewing one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will be held at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Detroit, MI.
