Whitsett, NC Ava Smith Langley, 91, of Rock Creek Dairy Road died on Friday, February 19, 2010 at Britthaven of Guilford. She was a native of Chatham County and the wife of the late Troy Eugene Langley, Sr. Ava was a homemaker and attended Rock Creek Baptist Church during her younger years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by, son, Carl Langley of Whitsett; and a daughter, Mrs. Mary Louise "Angel" Jamison of Whitsett; grandchildren, Cindy Langley of Kimesville, Christy L. Allred and Tammy Gibson both of Greensboro; great grandchildren, Courtney Nicole Gibson, Ashley Allred, Joe and Jessie Allred; brother, Guy Smith of Siler City. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Troy Eugene "Gene" Langley, Jr.; parents, Edward and Essie Smith. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Eric Rudd and burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 8:45 until 9:45 a.m. on Monday prior to the service and other times at the home of Carl Langley.
