Barry Wayne Irby, 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19th at Peak Resources in Hillsborough.
A native of Caswell County, he was the son of the late Ruthie Briggs Irby and the late Cabell Richard Irby Sr. Although Barry had Cerebral Palsy, he touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with.
Some of his favorite things included riding his 3 wheel bike, waving at everyone that drove by on Ridgeville Road, listening to music on his FM radio, putting puzzles together, creating latch hook masterpieces, anything UNC, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his siblings Janie Nelson of Burlington, Fred Beaudet of Burlington (brother in law), Frances Taylor (Buck) of Rougemont, Peggy Talley of Cedar Grove, Jimmy Irby (Debbie) of Prospect Hill, Jackie Irby (Sarah) of Hillsborough, and Wanda Riley of Prospect Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Jeanette Beaudet, Junior Irby, Patricia Talley, Mary Ellen Bush, Ricky Irby, Vickie Irby, and twin brother Garry Irby.
A Celebration of Life (graveside service), will be held on Sunday, August 23rd at 2pm at Lea Bethel Baptist Church cemetery, with visitation in Fellowship Hall immediately after burial. And yes, it’s a CELEBRATION, because that’s what Barry would want us to do. We should all strive to live more like Barry, to love like Barry loved!
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to be made to Prospect Hill Fire Department, ℅ Robbie Jean Yarbrough, 163 Cooper Cemetery Road, Prospect Hill, NC 27314.
