Bernard Sanders

Mr. Bernard Lee "Bernie" Sanders, age 82, of Burlington, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 6, 2016 after a sudden illness.
Born in Springfield, IL, he was the son of the late Lygora and Ruby Duncan Sanders and was married to Mrs. Dorothy Fadalia Brayfield Sanders, who died in 2004. He was retired from AT&T and attended West Burlington Church of God.
Bernie is survived by four grandchildren, Matthew Warren Overby and fiancée, Christina, Elizabeth Ann Sanders, James William Sanders, Jr. and Jacob Lee Sanders and two great grandchildren, Isabella Michelle Overby and Emalei Faye Overby. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a son, James William Sanders, Sr.; and two brothers, Wayne Edward Sanders and Calvin Dee Sanders.
Bernie's family will conduct a private memorial service at a later date.
