Bernice Warren Jobe, 84, passed away Friday at Alamance Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Mildred Bennett Jobe and the son of the late James Wesley and Amanda Sharpe Jobe. Warren was born in Orange County, served in the U.S. Army, retired from Longs Hosiery Mill was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship and also attended Ireland St. Chapel. Survivors include his daughter Deborah Jobe Parker and her husband Carroll Tuffy Parker of Johnson City, TN, grandchildren; John Fredrick Cartwright, Jr.and his wife Anita, Christopher Warren Cartwright, Jessica Lynne Tankersley and her husband Brian, Connor Lee Parker, great grandchildren; John Forrest Booher, Caden Tyde Cartwright, a sister Ruby Dawson of Asheboro. Special friends; Bertha Steelman, Ruth and Marvin Cole, Carolyn Humphrey and honorary granddaughter Lisa Jones. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sisters; Myrtle Weaver, Christine Jones, brothers; Edgar Jobe and Melvin Jobe. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Mr. Ken Harman. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
