Bessie Mays

Burlington, NC Bessie Stanley Zachary Mays, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the Hospice Home. She was a native of Caswell County and the daughter of the late James H. and Dora Bell Stanley. She was the wife of the late Clifton Walker Zachary who died in 1986. Bessie was a member of Christian Bible Fellowship and a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Bessie loved life and was a very active resident at Cedar Ridge participating in various activities including Bingo and Rook. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Eubanks and husband, Mike of Pittsboro; grandchildren, Jessica and Adam Eubanks; brother, Henry "Sonny Boy" Stanley of Greensboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brothers and seven sisters. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Christian Bible Fellowship by Rev. Bruce Readling and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
