Betty Jane Mills Lentz

Betty Jane Mills Lentz, age 97, died July 14, 2023, in Burlington, NC, with her family at her side.  Betty was born on January 2, 1926 in Salisbury, NC.  She married her high school sweetheart, Bob Lentz, and they raised three children in Burlington, NC before transferring to New Jersey then retiring in Wilmington, NC.  Betty was active at Macedonia Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed reading, needlework, family events, and travel, both domestic and international.

Betty is survived by her sister, Barbara Mills Beaver of Salisbury, NC; two of her children, Sue Lentz Dowd of Mount Pleasant, SC and Preston Lentz of Greensboro, NC; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Lentz, her daughter, Ann Lentz Ameen, and her little brother, Fred Thomas Mills.

The family wants to thank the staff of Coble Creek Skilled Nursing at Twin Lakes in Burlington for their kindness and support.  Their generous and loving care made Betty comfortable and secure and gave her family immense peace of mind.
