Betty Maness

Ms. Betty Lou Rumley Maness, age 77, died Monday September 17, 2012 at her home after several months of failing health. Born in Rockingham County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Manley Rumley and the late Peggy Alean Price Rumley. She was a retired CPA that was employed as a civilian contractor for several Navel bases along the east coast. Ms. Maness is survived by a daughter, Sherry Groce Dobzenski and her husband, Alex, of Burlington; a son, Travis William Groce of Willow Springs, NC; four grandchildren, Angela Lee Eanes and her husband, Michael, of Greensboro, Sharon Rene Dobzenski of Carrollton, TX, Gary Dean Dobzenski of Burlington and Cody William Groce of Winona, MN; seven great grandchildren; and four brothers, Donald Rumley and Richard Rumley, both of Browns Summitt, Bobby Rumley of Gibsonville and Jack Rumley of Reidsville. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Tonya Rene Dobzenski Goodwin. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, September 21, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bobby Fann. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the funeral home and other times at the daughter's residence, 4115 Boone Lane, Burlington.
