Betty Lou Allen Thomas

Betty Allen Thomas, 91 passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family.  Betty was born in Alamance County on November 29, 1932 to the late Kelly Kenneth and Carrie Hackney Allen and was married to the late J.C. Thomas for over 66 years.  

The loving mother of two, she was always a busy farm wife.   She retired from Cone Hospital with seventeen years of service after working there later in life.  Betty was always inquisitive and wanted to learn new things.  She enjoyed reading, sewing and baking.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, son; Kenneth Thomas, brother; Russell Allen and sisters; Nelda Phillippe and LaRue Brothers.  

She is survived by her daughter; June Williamson and husband, T.W. and her only grandchild Matt Williamson, who is currently living in Singapore.  

The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home in Burlington from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.  There will be a graveside service to celebrate her life at 2:00 on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Gibsonville City Cemetery.  

Memorials may be made to the Hospice Home of Alamance County; 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
