Billie Donk Walker

Billie Donk Walker, 78, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 7, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born in Batesville, Indiana to the late Joseph Alton Donk, Sr. and Hazel Ruble Donk, and was the wife of 58 years to the late Houston Turner Walker who died in 2021.

Billie retired from Injectronics/Bluewater as a quality control supervisor. She attended Berea Christian Church and was a member of First Baptist Church of Aurora, Indiana. Billie enjoyed her cats, cooking for her family, and camping with family and friends in Mt. Airy at the Homeplace Campground. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed.

Billie is survived by her daughter, Teresa Bambury and husband Raymond; a son, Tim Walker and wife Deborah; grandchildren, Kaitlin Reckert, Dustin Reckert and wife Meredith, Dillon Reckert and wife Brittany, Austin Mabry and Holden Walker; great granddaughters, Rosie, Raelynn, Mae, Eleanor and Lottie Reckert; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Houston, parents and siblings, Joseph “Petey” Donk, Jr., Dona “Donie” Robinson, Gilbert “Buddy” Donk, Eleanor “Bootsie” Kleine, Avis “Tiny” Rivera, George “Jimmy” Donk and Terry Donk.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and nurses at Cone Health Cancer Center at Alamance Regional and the nurses and caregivers with AuthoraCare for all their compassion and loving care that was shown to their mother during her illness.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Friday, May 12, 2023 at Berea Christian Church by Rev. Jeff Smith with the burial to follow at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the residence.
