Bobbie Campbell Blakely, 96, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Twin Lakes Community, Burlington NC. She was born in Belton, SC, on May 19, 1929, to Rufus M. and Lula Bailey Campbell. She was married to Jones H. Blakely, Jr. (Buddy), for 69 years before his death in October 2021.

She is survived by her three children: Carol Blakely and husband, Steve Pagano; Vicki Blakely; Jones H. Blakely, III (Chip), and wife Noelle; granddaughters Sara and Ava Blakely; step-grandchildren, Rocco and Jenna Salerno; and her sister, Jane Cauthen, and husband, Ralph. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by brothers Leonard and Charles Campbell, and sisters, Allene Locke and Mary Creekmore.

Bobbie graduated from Honea Path High School and attended Furman University and Draughton Business School. She worked as a stenographer in Greenville. While living in Greenville, SC, she became a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority and became the South Carolina state president. After she and Buddy moved to Eden, NC, in 1971, she joined the chapter there. Also, while living in Eden, she was a member of the Eden Garden Club and the Thursday Study Club. She was employed at Morehead Memorial Hospital for several years and developed many friendships there. She was an active member of Leaksville United Methodist Church, and particularly enjoyed playing in the handbells. Bobbie most recently attended Gibsonville United Methodist Church. She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano, organ, and later a keyboard. Her favorite hymn, Because He Lives, was one that she played often. It was a source of great comfort to her.

She and her husband, Buddy, enjoyed living in the Twin Lakes Community for nearly twenty-four years, where they were actively involved. They also traveled extensively with their friends from Eden, Brenda and Jim Stutts.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Twin Lakes Community.

Memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, the Gary Sinise Foundation, or to Authoracare Collective (hospice) of Burlington.
