Bobbie Belch Chriscoe

Bobbie Belch Chriscoe, 88, of Burlington passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2023.

Bobbie was born February 4, 1935 to Ralph E. Belch and Hazel Yarbrough Belch.  She began her career at Southern Bell as a telephone operator and worked there until her retirement as an engineer.  She was a devout Christian and a long-time member of Bellemont United Methodist Church and a current member of HICO Baptist Church.  Bobbie loved being outdoors and enjoyed camping with her family and growing a large garden. Even though she could hold her own in the outdoors, she was always “made up” and extremely stylish, with her hair done and a beautiful outfit on.  She loved organizing neighborhood activities and cooking for get-togethers and church functions.  Above all, Bobbie was deeply devoted to her family.  She was always present for every event in their life, no matter how big or how small.  Tiny in stature but tough as nails, they will miss her calm and loving presence in their lives.

Bobbie is survived by her husband, Bud Fox; son, James Carlton Sharpe, Jr. and wife Lynne; stepchildren, Henry Franklin Chriscoe, Jr., Michael Fox, and Michelle Fox; granddaughter, Tiffany Lynne Sharpe; brother, Ralph E. Belch, Jr.; and nieces, Sandra Oliver and Michelle Smith.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Lee Cobb and Henry Franklin Chriscoe and sisters, Betty Topewith, Sarah Smith, and Jaxie Lee.

A celebration of Bobbie’s life will be held Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 2 PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 12:45 – 1:45 PM prior to the service.  Interment will be held Monday, March 6, 2023 at 12 Noon at Alamance Memorial Park.
