Bobby Dove, Sr.

Burlington – Bobby Ray Dove, 85 went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at his home with his wife by his side. He was the son of the late Jim Green and Nannie Chapman Dove. He was the husband of 58 years to Lorraine Carter Dove who survives.

Bobby retired from P. Lorrillard Tobacco after 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Army. Bobby was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church for 50 years where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, Soloist and Treasurer. He attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors whether he was fishing or gardening. He also spent many enjoyable hours woodworking. Bobby was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Carter Dove of the home; daughter, Carol Dove Terrell and husband, Jamey of Chapel Hill; son, Bobby “Ray” Dove, Jr. and wife, Tammy of Graham; grandchildren, Dustin Dove and wife, Maryrose, Cameron Terrell, Carter Terrell and Gabby Terrell; brother, Dwight Dove and wife, Pam of Eden; sisters, Dorothy Rakestraw of Reidsville, Margie Puckett of Reidsville and Maribeth Woolard and husband, Sam of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Eva Cox.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Alamance Memorial Park by Dr. Steve Tucker. There will be a public viewing from 1-5 pm on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
