Brent Jones

Mr. Brent Tyler Jones, age 36, of Gibsonville, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at his residence after a sudden illness.

A native of Alamance County he was the son of Gary Lynn Jones and Teresa Oakley Jones and was engaged to be married to Jessica Lee Knott, “the love of his life”.  Brent graduated from Western High School and was employed with the City of Burlington in the Water Resources Department and was active in Faith Christian Church.  Brent loved life and was always involved in recreational activities like riding four wheelers, go carts, sports, fishing, hunting and other various outdoor pursuits.  Brent’s real talent was his great sense of humor and making people laugh. He also loved spending time with his daughter.

Brent is survived by his daughter, Oakley Catherine Jones; his son that is due in March, Jayce Tyler Jones; his fiancé and his parents; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Gladys and Sonny Oakley and Clydia and Boyd Jones and two uncles, Barry Oakley and Chip Jones.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 Friday, December 10, 2021 at Faith Christian Church by Rev. Reid Dickens.  Interment will follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 Friday at the church prior to the service and other times at his parent’s residence.  Brent will be available for viewing from 12:00 – 5:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
