Bryce George Moore, Jr.

Mr. Bryce (Butch) George Moore Jr., 80, of Burlington, North Carolina, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Mr. Moore was born in Lee County, North Carolina, on August 27, 1946, to the late Bryce George Moore Sr. and Margaret Gainey Moore.  He grew up in Burlington and graduated from Walter M. Williams High School.  Butch attended Wake Forest University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity where he formed several lifelong friendships.  Following a brief stint in education, he worked in the textile industry and later in financial services.  

Butch took great pride in his family. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Bryce DuBose, and her husband, Max; his beloved granddaughters, Kate and Laura; his brother, Roger Moore, and his wife, Elizabeth “Liz”, and their son, Grayson; and his sister, Mary Ann Hensley, and her husband, Randall, and their daughter, Meg.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Whalen Moore.  

 Butch will be remembered by his family and friends for the life he shared with those he loved and the lasting impact he had on his family. 

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Wake Forest Fund. 

 Services will be private.
