Buell Edward Moser, Sr.

     Buell E. Moser, of Burlington, NC, passed away peacefully during the early morning hours of May 27, 2023.  He was the son of Buell Alexander and Ruvater Cartner Moser.
     Although he has risen from this earth, we find peace in the knowledge that he has joined his beloved wife, Patricia Long Moser, who preceded him nearly 12 years ago. He and Pat Long were high school sweet hearts and were married nearly 57 years before her passing on June 17, 2011. He leaves behind four children, Ed Moser (Lee), Lee Westbrook (Michael), Mark Moser (Laura), and Nathan Moser; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
     Buell was a long-time member of Front Street United Methodist Church in Burlington, NC where he served as Lay Leader for 27 years and taught Sunday School to the Youth Group. He also served on the Administrative Board, the Finance Board, and multiple committees as an active member of the church.
Buell was Chairman of the Cherokee Council of the Boy Scouts of America and an active member of Troop 17. He served on the Local Advisory Board of Wachovia Bank for 30 years and was a past President of the Burlington Kiwanis Club.
     For 32 years, Buell was a Vice President at Dura-Tred Hosiery where he worked with his father and two brothers, Deoane and Clementh Moser. After Dura-Tred was sold in 1988, Buell started his own business and was President of Feet First until he later retired.
     Buell’s encouraging and upbeat style had a positive influence on so many of his family and friends. We will miss his smile and warm embrace but find comfort in the knowledge of how blessed we are to have had him as a father and a friend.
     There will be a private graveside service for the family at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, followed by a reception for friends at 11:00am at Front Street United Methodist Church at the Heritage Center, located at 136 S. Fisher St., Burlington, NC 27215.
