Carl Durham

Carl Branson Durham, 87, of 2232 Mathis Trail passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Alamance Health Care. Mr. Durham was born February 3, 1924 in Alamance County to the late Walter Clifford and Mary Lester Foster Durham. He was the husband of Hilda Phillips Durham who preceded him in 2006. Carl retired from Dura-Tred Hosiery and he was a W. W. II veteran. Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia Davis and her husband, Kendall Davis, Sr. of Burlington; six grandchildren, Ken Davis, Jr., Kevin Davis, Keary Davis, Bobby Durham, Heather Hill, and Scott Durham; seven great grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. Carl was preceded in death by his wife; two sons, Douglas Lynn Durham, and Gregory Phillips Durham; and four sisters. A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Alamance Memorial Park with Pastor Howard Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:45 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of his daughter, 2405 B Deep Creek Church Rd. Burlington.
