Carol Noah Durham, 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Peak Resources after several months of failing health. She was born on September 17, 1942 in Alamance County to the late Carl Anderton Noah and Cora Edith Sharpe Noah, and was the wife to Billy Eugene Durham who survives.
Carol was a homemaker and a member of Christ Church. Her mission was to take care of and pray for her family, friends, and anyone who was in need, often sharing vegetables from the garden. Carol often spent time cooking, sewing, quilting, and working with children at church VBS. She enjoyed family beach trips where she rose early for the sunrise and collected seashells as she walked along the beach. Carol loved living in the country and watching all the wildlife around her.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 64 years, Billy “Bill” Durham; her loving children, Lowell Durham, Neil Durham and his wife Stephanie, and Sheri Durham Wood and her husband Jim; her grandchildren that she adored, Bethany Durham, Wesley Durham, Kellen Wood and his wife Abby, Connor Wood, and Julia Durham; and several nieces and nephews. Nancy has now been reunited with her parents, Carl and Cora Noah, and her siblings, Robert “Bob” Noah, Margaret Thompson and Elsie Durham that have preceded her in death.
The family will be having a memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Carol from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory. At other times the family will be at the residence.
Memorials may be made to AuthoraCare, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215. You may send condolences to the family at www.lowefuneralhome.com
