Carolyn Whitley Newman

On October 2, 2026, Carolyn W. Newman, age 77, was united with her Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with many loved ones in Heaven. What a happy reunion!

Carolyn was a graduate of Western Alamance High School and Elon University. She was the first in her family to obtain a college degree. She enjoyed a long career at Duke Power Company. Carolyn enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and even obtained her pilots license.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dane Newman, parents, Garrie Whitley, and Pansy Simpson Mansfield as well as her brothers George Whitley and David Whitley. She is survived by her nieces and her life-long friend, Beulah Kay Short.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care and support provided by the staff of Brookdale and also to the Hospice care team.

A private graveside service will be held at noon on Thursday, October 8, 2026.
