Catherine Adella Elliott Jobe, 79, gained the angel wings she always deserved and arrived home with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 1, 2025, departing her earthly home surrounded by loving family and friends. A true servant of Christ and native of Guilford County, Catherine was the daughter of the late Vance Lee Elliott and Edith Cook Elliott and was married for over 52 years to the love of her life Thomas Blake Jobe, who has been awaiting her heavenly arrival since 2018.
Catherine enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring from the textiles industry, where her hard work and dedication were well-respected among her colleagues. Despite her professional accomplishments, Catherine found her greatest joy in her family and her many hobbies. A devoted gardener, she particularly cherished her rose garden, which flourished under her meticulous care. Her love for the arts extended to her lifelong membership at Apple’s Chapel Church, where she not only taught children's Sunday School but also sang in the choir, sharing her love of music with the congregation.
Catherine’s love for her family was profound. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Nicole Jobe Jones, and her husband Bryan; her treasured granddaughter, Madalyn "Maddy" Jones, who brought her immense pride and joy; her sister-in-law, Marie Honeycutt (Robert), along with Deborah Hines; and her brother-in-law, Raymond Jobe (Faye Holt); and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Thomas Blake Jobe, her parents, Vance Lee Elliott and Edith Cook Elliott; and her sister-in-law, Jeanette Register.
A funeral service to celebrate Catherine’s life will be held at 2:00 on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Apple’s Chapel with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Apple’s Chapel as well as at other times at Catherine’s home.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Authoracare for their compassionate care of Catherine. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Authoracare Hospice; 914 Chapel Hill rd. Burlington, Nc 27215.
