Burlington Mrs. Ceola Greeson Elliott, age 86, formerly of Highview St., passed away Monday, January 12, 2009. A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Russell B. Elliott and daughter of the late James Branson and Minnie Ceola Holt Greeson. She graduated from Nathaniel Greene High School, attended Hunter College in New York, NY and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII where she served as a Pharmacist Mate. She attended Ireland Street Chapel. She loved God, her country and her family. Among her favorite past times was cooking, gardening and weekly visits to the country spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her sons, Stephen B. "Steve" Elliott of Burlington and Jonathan R. Elliott and wife Betsy of Charlotte; daughters, Rene E. Neff and husband Rev. David Neff of Graham and Melanie E. Sampson and husband Albert of Madison, CT; son-in-law John A. Vogler of Winston-Salem; sisters, Aileen G. Jones of Siler City, Betty G. Keck and husband LeeRoy of Julian, Hilda G. Humble and husband Clifton of Kimesville; sister-in-law Ruby Greeson of Julian; grandchildren, Caleb and Tyler Neff, Emily and Margaret Elliott and Stoddard and Dorritt Sampson. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Jeffrey S. Elliott; daughter, Peggy E. Vogler and siblings, Frances G. Sharpe, Kirby Greeson, Jeanette G. Ingle and James Greeson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. David Neff. Interment will follow in Coble's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
